Based in Santiago, the exotic styling of Izquierdo Lehmann Architects is quite at home in a luxurious spot in Punta Pite, Chile, where stone meets the sea. Completed in 2008, these contemporary coastal homes are simple square structures which appear as though they’ve been here from the very beginning. This modern residence is actually a two-in-one design: two individual homes, one of 430.45 m2 and the other 396.13 m2. Coarse stone blocks are stacked and complemented by wide expanses of glass, wood window treatments and contemporary concrete, built into the rocky shore to extend both below grade and out over the water. Walk-out terraces encircle the first, second and third storeys, offering panoramic views from every point in the house. This gorgeous pair boasts an architectural flair that’s effortless, and at the same time completely calculated, making the most of these fabulous surroundings and the native materials at their disposal.
