Southern Ocean Lodge offers luxury lodges along secluded cliffs of Australia’s Kangaroo Island. The lodge aims to provide a sanctuary to its occupants through its intimate style and comfort. Upon the cliff, one can view the pounding surf through a full frontal panorama as well as be in easy reach of the islands main attractions.

The lodge has 21 luxe suites, each with stunning views of the Southern Ocean, creating a fusion of nature and comfort. Interiors feature King beds, sunken lounge, dramatic glass walled bathroom featuring Southern Spa amenities and outdoor terrace with occasional seating and daybed. Other features include; walk-in robe, complimentary room bar, twice daily housekeeping, optional climate control, heated floors, internet, music system (with MP3 input), safe and telephone. Televisions are in selected suites only. Majority of contemporary furnishings and artworks are commissioned from local Kangaroo Island artisans who create a natural theatre from the surrounding landscape and environs.

The lodge also offers a spa retreat perched on a high cliff top which offers a wide range of views expanding from the Southern Ocean stretching toward the Antarctic. Spa menus offers a selection of traditional and cutting edge treatments combined with the crisp, highly oxygenized air coming from the Antarctic. Spa features a steam room, chill out lounge and spa cuisine program.

On top of the lodge’s luxuries, the surrounding provides a unique experience that can only be seen in Australia. Guided excursions are situated throughout the island, allowing guests to interact with the wildlife which include white dolphins, bay seals, koalas, and, of course, kangaroos. A Southern Ocean Lodge guide introduces sea lions at sunrise, tours of the nearby Kelly Hill Caves and a heavenly navigation of the Southern sky from the comfort of the stargazing platform.
